Eloping in Switzerland? Let’s Make It Unforgettable

We plan and capture intimate, breathtaking elopements in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Just you, your love, and the most beautiful backdrop in the world.

Ruxin, founder of Rooxi Studio, sitting cross-legged in a white suit while holding a camera, symbolizing her role as a prewedding and elopement photographer in Switzerland

Hi, I’m Ruxin – Your Swiss Elopement Photographer & Planner

I’m Ruxin — a mother of two, an artist at heart, and the founder of Rooxi Studio.

After graduating from the Royal College of Art, I began my career as a color designer for a major automotive brand. But in 2020, love brought me to Switzerland — and with it, a bold new chapter. Surrounded by majestic mountains and storybook villages, I traded corporate life for creativity, picking up a camera and falling in love all over again — this time with visual storytelling.

What began as a personal journey soon grew into something bigger. Today, Rooxi Studio is a team of passionate photographers capturing intimate elopements and preweddings across Switzerland’s most magical landscapes.

Unlike traditional wedding photography, I bring an artistic, cinematic approach to every shoot — blending emotion, atmosphere, and beauty to create timeless images that feel like a dream.

Why couples love working with me:

  • Based in Switzerland, with deep local knowledge and cultural insight

  • Specialized in Asian prewedding and elopement storytelling

  • From concept to camera, I guide you with warmth, care, and creativity

  • Photography that looks like art and feels like a memory

There’s No Place Like the Alps

KIND WORDS

When we first met Ruxin at the train station, it felt like meeting a new friend right away. She was very gentle and softly-spoken, and as we were not used to posing in front of the camera, she managed to put us at ease as soon as we started. She patiently gave us guidance during the photoshoot, such as tidying our hair and which angle to look. We were very grateful that she informed us of the weather in advance and rescheduled our photoshoot so that it would not be ruined because of the rain. The photos were very natural and blended very well with the scenery. It has totally cast away our worries that February may be too snowy for a photoshoot, as we only had time to go on a long trip during that period. She suggested different places and we managed to shoot at a few locations within a short time. We were very impressed with how the photos turned out at the end, and it was amazing how she managed to capture our expressions and gave us a truly memorable time in the picturesque village of Grindelwald. We feel extremely lucky to have been introduced to Ruxin, and I would highly recommend her to other couples or families for photo shoots!

I highly recommend my photographer, Ruxin! She specifically timed our shoot to capture the perfect sunlight. The lighting was incredible. Both locations she recommended for us were so beautiful. The communication during the shoot was pleasant; she provided clear guidance on where to look, where to walk, and how to position my hands. She also pointed out any unintended poses, like lifting my chin, which could affect the final shots (thank you!). With her extensive experience, she managed our winter shoot in the snow very well. About ten minutes into the session, she asked us to put on down jackets to keep warm before continuing for another fifteen minutes. We finished without catching a cold! We received the edited photos just a few days later, and we were amazed by the speed. The final result really exceeded our expectations!

Our photoshoot experience was really amazing. Much of thanks to our photographer, whom was very patient and accomodating to us all throughout. The weather was very cloudy but the photohgrapher understood what we really opt out in our photos. We are very much pleased when we saw our pictures It was beyond our expectations Also, its was so easy to communicate with you guys regarding what outcome we want as well as in the editing etc. I will never forget how nice of you to edit the mountain behind us in our Lake Bachalpsee photos since it was not visible due to the clouds Thank you very much for your great photoshoot service!

Jasmin

We’re so lucky to have found you to take our photos! I’ve actually looked for different photographers, but as soon as I saw the previous photos you took for clients, I knew I had to choose you! I know you had a little baby at the time, but you still put in a lot of effort and took us to different locations for the shoot. We’re really satisfied with the photos, and we even printed some to display in our living room! Thank you!

Can we elope with guests?2025-02-22T08:44:31+00:00

Absolutely! Whether it’s an intimate ceremony for just the two of you or a small gathering with loved ones, Switzerland offers venues that cater to both. We can arrange chairs and other facilities for your guests, ensuring a comfortable and memorable experience. However, we recommend keeping the guest list to a maximum of 10 people, focusing on close family and friends. Beyond that, the celebration may feel more like a traditional wedding than an elopement.

How do we get started?2025-02-22T08:44:54+00:00

Have questions or need guidance? Contact us today for a free consultation! We’ll walk you through the planning process step-by-step to help create your dream Swiss elopement.

Do we need to be religious for a chapel elopement?2025-02-22T08:45:14+00:00

Not necessarily! Some small chapels, particularly those inside castles, allow non-religious ceremonies. However, larger churches may have specific requirements, such as a Christian affiliation. It’s best to check the rules of each individual chapel or church to ensure they meet your needs.

Can we elope in Switzerland year-round?2025-02-22T08:45:42+00:00

Yes, Switzerland is a beautiful destination in every season, each offering unique scenery. However, seasonal accessibility varies, especially for mountain locations, so it’s essential to plan accordingly. In winter, the mountain areas are often sunny, and the sunlight adds warmth, making it feel less cold. The soft winter light also creates a magical backdrop for stunning photos!

How far in advance should I book?2025-02-20T04:03:05+00:00

Our summer slots are usually very busy. To ensure quality, we limit the number of bookings we take. We recommend booking as soon as you have your flight tickets and travel dates confirmed. If you’re unsure about your dates, you can also pay a deposit to secure your spot at the current price. The deposit is valid for one year.

How long is the turnaround time for our photo gallery?2025-02-20T04:03:02+00:00

Standard turnaround time for delivery of your original jpg photos is within 1-2 weeks after the shooting date. The edited photos will be about weeks to 1 month after your selection — however, depending on the time of year it may be sooner.

Will you show me how to pose?2025-02-20T04:02:59+00:00

Absolutely. Nine times out of 10 we hear something along the lines of, “I’m so awkward in front of the camera.” Our goal is to prove to you that this isn’t true. Everyone is photogenic in their own way—sometimes it just takes a little coaching to bring that out. We also offer posing prompts throughout the session and make sure you aren’t left wondering what to do with your hands or how to stand.

How will the photos be delivered?2025-02-20T04:02:55+00:00

The photos will be delivered to you with a link to your online gallery. From there, you can download your photos, share the link with friends/family, share to social media etc.

Will you help me choose an outfit for my session?2025-02-20T04:02:52+00:00

Absolutely! We have a wardrobe tip sheet that we send to every client when they book us and we are always happy to look at outfit photos in advance of the session to help you choose pieces that suit you and the scenery best and make you feel comfortable at the same time.

What if I don’t like the wedding dresses you offer?2025-02-20T04:02:48+00:00

We recommend bringing your own wedding dress in a compression bag. Rental options for wedding dresses in Switzerland are very limited and expensive. We suggest renting or purchasing your dress in your home country before your trip.

Do you provide makeup, clothing, and accessories?2025-02-20T04:02:44+00:00

To make things easier for our clients, especially those visiting Switzerland for the first time, our packages include makeup and dresses. If you choose a package that doesn’t include them, you can add them as an extra service. We have a curated selection of wedding dresses perfect for both natural outdoor settings like mountains and lakes, as well as indoor city locations.

It can be look awkward if the suits don’t fit, so we don’t provide men’s suits. We recommend you bring your own. However, we do provide shoes and hair accessories for women and ties and other accessories for men.

When is the best time to photograph snow-capped mountains or lakes?2025-02-20T04:02:33+00:00

We can photograph snow-capped mountains throughout the year. For a completely white background, the best time is between December and February. In summer, we can still capture some perennial glaciers as a backdrop, but we’ll need to go to higher altitudes areas. The warmer the weather, the less snow you’ll find.

The best time to photograph lakes is between April and October. During these months, the water color is usually more vibrant. Smaller lakes may have lower water levels in winter, so the period from June to October is more suitable.

What happens if the weather is bad?2025-02-20T04:02:39+00:00

We usually check the weather forecast before a shoot. If there’s heavy rain or fog, we’ll let you know what dates we can reschedule. We usually have some back-up dates in case of bad weather. If the weather is bad on the day of the shoot, we’ll wait until it clears.
