A Love Story Framed by History: A Swiss Castle Wedding to Remember
It was a wedding we planned for just the two of us. The ceremony took place at the historic Spiez Castle, situated on the shores of Lake Thun. The Spiez castle has a rich history dating back to 13th century. It features a massive square keep, a picturesque courtyard, and beautifully preserved interiors. The castle stands out beautifully against the Swiss Alps and the sparkling Lake Thun. It’s a truly special place.
A band was specially flown in from Milan, Italy, for this special occasion. The bride’s natural, cascading bouquet complemented her wedding dress beautifully. She chose a simple yet elegant gown with a lace veil. As the castle’s church bell chimed, the bride slowly opened the church doors and walked towards the groom, who could be seen looking quite nervous. When he lifted her veil, tears welled up in his eyes. The officiant also conducted a handfasting ceremony.
As they exited the church, their joy was evident. Soft light filtered through the castle’s windows, creating a serene and sacred atmosphere. After the ceremony, we took some additional photos of the bride and groom inside the church, as they had requested. The sunlight caught the bride’s veil beautifully.
