A Wes Anderson Wedding in the Schatzalp

The 18th-century Schatzalp hotel, perched high in the Davos mountains, felt like stepping into a Wes Anderson film. With its symmetrical architecture and vintage charm, it was the perfect setting for this unique wedding. The bride, a true Wes Anderson enthusiast, had expressed her admiration for his style from the very beginning, and I, a fellow fan, was excited to see her vision come to life.

Reaching the hotel required a scenic cable car ride. As we ascended, I was pleasantly surprised to overhear Chinese being spoken. The mystery was solved upon arrival when I spotted boxes of sweets adorned with double happiness symbols, a delightful touch as the groom’s mother was Chinese.

The couple captured stunning portraits in the hotel’s picturesque garden, with the majestic Alps providing a breathtaking backdrop. Inside, the hotel itself was a testament to the bride’s aesthetic, every corner reflecting the vintage symmetry and whimsical charm of an Anderson film. It was a truly magical experience, as if we were living inside a work of art.
